Values

These core values define who we are and the worK we do.

Justice

We recognize that money is powerful and we recognize the power we wield through our work. We take on clients that challenge the status quo. We do not take on clients that will reinforce the status quo. We aim to use our skills, resources, and knowledge to drive funding to initiatives with the potential to create a sustainable and just world.

Authenticity

We believe that humanity should come first in business. Work is a part of our community and our natural environment – it does not sit outside of them. We aim to bring our whole diverse selves to our work, including our cultural norms, practices, and communities. We believe this is critical to building trust and forming relationships with our clients and with each other.

Collaboration

We aim to work closely with each other and our clients to co-create. We know that in order to help our clients realize change in our communities, it is important to hear all voices and perspectives. Often we learn the most from the quietest person in the room, and we aim to create an environment where everyone can participate.

This also means that the wellbeing of our team, our clients, and our communities takes priority. Too often our communities and land suffer from generations of structural inequities that limit our ability to contribute time, energy, and resources. True collaboration can only occur when we are all able to contribute equally.

Integrity and Transparency

We respect each other, our clients, our communities, and the land. We know that relationships take time to form and for mutual responsibility to generate. We aim to foster these relationships through transparency and integrity, centering people as well as profit. We know that silence and opacity only benefit existing systems of power, and never the communities we strive to serve.

This also means that we never take commissions or success fees in our work with both nonprofit and forprofit clients. You can read more about commissions in fundraising here.
